Todd Olson
StayFit yoga instructor, Todd Olson, began practicing yoga to alleviate pain from low-back injuries
and sciatica. Impressed with the natural results he was looking for, Todd completed teacher
training in Baron Baptiste styled Power Vinyasa Yoga, and then followed with Viniyoga training
designed by Gary Kraftsow of The American Viniyoga Institute. Teaching full-time throughout the
Twin Cities, Todd now enjoys helping others use yoga to alleviate pain or achieve fitness goals.

Todd’s Power Yoga class is a sequence of breath-synchronized poses designed to build strength,
flexibility and balance. It can be vigorous and challenging for experienced yogis- allowing them to
build heat and stamina, yet modifications are offered to make the class accessible for beginners or
those who have injuries or excessive stiffness. A non-competitive atmosphere is encouraged as
well as an internal focus- making the class a meditation in motion.

In the Viniyoga approach, yoga practice is adapted to fit the needs, goals and
circumstances of the student instead of trying to adapt each person to fit ideal yoga
poses. Viniyoga can also be translated as yoga with a specific intention or purpose in
mind; for example, to reduce stress, build strength or improve concentration. The
sequence of poses are very approachable for beginners, yet can be made challenging for
experienced yogis.

Whether you are taking Todd’s Power Yoga or Viniyoga styled classes you can expect relaxed,
friendly attention to detail and a strong emphasis on the mind-body connection that makes yoga
so effective.
